Daily Sleep Calculator
About us

Making sleep science practical

Daily Sleep Calculator started as a simple idea: most people don't need another lecture on sleep hygiene, they need a fast, accurate way to figure out what time to go to bed tonight.

What we do

Daily Sleep Calculator helps you time your bedtime or wake-up time around natural 90-minute sleep cycles, so you're more likely to wake up near the end of a cycle instead of in the middle of deep sleep. Alongside the calculator, we publish sourced, plain-language articles that explain the sleep science behind the tool — sleep cycles, sleep inertia, the effect of light on melatonin, and the warning signs of common sleep disorders.

What we're not

We're not a medical provider, and nothing on this site is a diagnosis or a substitute for seeing a doctor or a sleep specialist. Our calculator uses population averages (a ~90-minute cycle length and a ~15-minute average time to fall asleep); your own cycles will vary somewhat from night to night. See our Medical Disclaimer for the full picture.

Sourced content

Our articles link out to the original research, CDC guidance, or recognized medical institutions behind every claim.

No fear-based hooks

We aim to explain sleep science clearly rather than dramatize it for clicks.

Free, no signup

The calculator and every article are free to use, with no account required.

Independently run

We're a small, independent site supported by advertising, not by any pharmaceutical or supplement brand.

How we source our content

Every article is written using publicly available research and guidance from sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Sleep Foundation, and academic medical centers like Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic. We link to these sources directly at the bottom of each article rather than asking you to take our word for it. Read more in our Editorial Policy.
